BADGER REGION ALL-STARS SHINE IN FORT LAUDERDALE

The five teams who represented the Badger Region at the 2023 USA All-Star Championships exceeded expectations while in Fort Lauderdale July 19-23.
All five teams either improved seed or held seed.

  • Boys U19: Finished 4th, started 8th
  • Boys U17: Finished 8th, started 9th
  • Girls U17: Finished 4th, started 4th
  • Girls U15: Finished 5th, started 6th
  • Girls U13: Finished 3rd, started 7th

The Girls U13 team was the lone team to come home with a medal, finishing third out of 10 teams in the 13 national division.

Fifty athletes and 18 staff members represented the state of Wisconsin in the Region vs. Region all-star event that is sanctioned by USA Volleyball but is run by the Regions of USA Volleyball. Florida Region played host for tournament this year.

The Badger Region was fortunate enough to have six amazing officials be selected to participate in the 2023 USA All-Star Championships in Fort Lauderdale. Only delegations who send teams to the elite event are allowed to nominate referees and scorers for the tournament. Officials included Julie Voeck (head official), Jim Arts, John Nelson, Max Nuon, Lexi Sheldon and Erin Stalker.

Next year’s event will take place July 18-22 in Des Moines, Iowa.
