HOLLY JABLONOWSKI SELECTED AS PRESIDENT OF BADGER REGION BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Badger Region Board of Directors has selected Holly Jablonowski to be its next Board President after Jim Momsen announced his departure near the end of his most recent term that concluded May 31.

Jablonowski will continue to serve as the Southeast Representative to the board, a position she was elected to by the membership in 2016. She will vacate her position as Board Secretary effective immediately, and the Board will elect a new Secretary from within its ranks in the coming weeks.

” I have been on the board for nearly 10 years, and have seen both Jim and Julie (Voeck) at the helm, with all the growth and pivots they were part of. I’m excited to see where the Region continues to go, and how we can better serve athletes, parents, coaches, and clubs,” Jablonowski wrote. “We don’t always get it right, but we do our best to listen to our members, and that is something I’m really proud of, and look forward to continuing.”

Jablonowski (formerly Vogelsang) is a member of the Wisconsin Volleyball Conference (college club) advisory board and serves as the conference’s women’s division coordinator.

“I was president of the women’s club volleyball team at UW-La Crosse for three years, and am now the Associate Commissioner of the Wisconsin Volleyball Conference, so it became apparent to me that I love being involved and giving back to the volleyball community,” she said. “By day I am a project manager so I have a keen eye for detail and seeing things through, which I think is important when helping to provide direction and guidance.”

She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2015. She coached girls volleyball at La Crosse Logan High School for two years and coached at Brookfield Central High School from 2015 to 2021. She is currently a boys coach for Milwaukee Sting Volleyball Club.

Jablonowski brings a unique perspective to the top spot on the Badger Region Board of Directors.

” I believe I’m the youngest Board member (and have been since I was first elected), and ultimately the youngest board President in recent history. Julie and Jim brought a wealth of knowledge and experience, and as officials they had a different connection to the region than I do as a coach,” she said. “On a daily basis I am interacting with athletes, parents, other coaches, and club directors, so I will have a wealth of my own information that helps continue to shape my views for the board. I am also a parent to an almost three year old, and while she is not yet playing, we try to involve her in everything volleyball that we can – volleyball is a lifelong sport, and it should be inclusive and conducive to everyone, including parents of young children.”

In July of 2018, she married fellow volleyball enthusiast John Jablonowski. They have one daughter together.

Executive Director and Commissioner Jennifer Armson-Dyer is excited about Jablonowski’s new role, as two will work closer together. “Holly has been an invaluable board member throughout her involvement, from board meetings to the HR committee to the Finance Committee,” said Armson-Dyer. “She isn’t afraid to speak up, to raise questions and to make sure that all angles of a situation are taken into account. She is going to do fantastic as the board president and I look forward to our collaborations as Badger Region continues to be on the forefront in the volleyball community.”
