Badger Region Qualifier

To participate in the USA Volleyball Girls’ Junior National Championships, a team must either register for the Patriot Division (all-comers) or attempt to qualify for one of the six bid-winner divisions: Open, National, USA, Liberty, American, Freedom. Teams must attend a national qualifier to earn Open, USA, Liberty, or American bids, while they may attend a regional qualifier to earn National, American, or Freedom bids. All boys bids are awarded through the national bid tournament process.

It is disruptive to the quality of the event when bids are not accepted. There are financial consequences, administrative challenges and logistical delays for teams, club directors, families and region administrators. Inevitably, this also takes opportunities away from other teams participating in the qualification process. 

Therefore, by playing in the Badger Region Qualifier, a team acknowledges and confirms its participation in the USA Volleyball Girl’s Junior National Championships (GJNCs) if a bid is earned. A team may not decline a bid.

Failure to accept an earned bid at the event will result in a $1,000 fine per team and no refunds of entry fees or spectator admission fees. This does not apply to reallocated or trickle down bids that come after the event ends. 

In addition:

  • The club director is suspended from participation in all National Qualifiers (NQs) and/or Regional Qualifiication Events and GJNCs for the remainder of the season and the following season. 
  • The head coach listed on the official qualification roster is suspended from participation in all NQs and/or Regional Qualification Events and GJNCs for the remainder of the season and next season. 
  • All members listed on the official qualification roster suspended from participation in all NQs and/or Regional Qualification Events and GJNCs for the remainder of the season and the following season.
  • Specific age group from club suspended from participation in all NQs and/or Regional Qualification Events and GJNCs for the remainder of the season and the following season. 
  • Club or specific team suspended from participation in all NQ and/or Regional Qualification Events and GJNCs for the remainder of the season and the following season. 
  • All suspensions will be published on the Badger Region website and submitted to the National Qualifier Directors and USA Volleyball. 

At the event, a team can pre-declare which bids they are seeking. The options below prevent teams from disrupting the bid process by picking and choosing divisions outside of what is listed below. They may declare what bids they are going for in the following fashion:

  • Freedom only
  • American and Freedom
  • National, American and Freedom (All bids)

These declarations will be made public in advance of the event.

Badger Region follows the USA Volleyball Guidelines for bid acceptance and penalties outlined in the Girls Championship Manual here. Any bids earned or received after the completion of the Bagder Region Qualifier will “trickle down” or be reallocated according to the USAV Division Hierarchy (Open, National, USA, Liberty, American, Freedom). 2027 Badger Region Qualified Teams List (updated 9/23/26)

2027 information

The number of bids awarded is determined by USA Volleyball based on number of registered teams and athletes in the Region. Some bids may be awarded through “Trickle Down” or the “Reallocation Process,” and therefore be granted after the completion of the tournament, as late as the first week of May.

Continuing for 2027: The Badger Region will pre-reserve hotel rooms for teams who win and accept the National bid of each age division 11-13 in Chicago or 14-17s in Las Vegas for the Girls Junior National Championships.

Continuing in 2027: In accordance with all USAV qualifiers: Teams are responsible for providing an officiating/work crew for matches in which they are not scheduled to play. Those work assignments can be found in the official play schedule. For planning purposes, be prepared to provide the following officials:

  • Second referee (must be a rostered adult)
  • Certified scorer
  • Scoreboard operator/libero tracker
  • Two line judges

Teams are guaranteed one day of play but need to qualify for day two of the tournament by finishing well in pool play. The Badger Region qualifier is for Badger Region-teams only. It is also designed for clubs who want to seriously compete for a spot at the USA Volleyball Girls Junior National Championships. This should not be considered a playdate for your team.

FORMAT: Format will be determined by the number of teams entered in the Division.  2-9 teams will be a 1-day event, 10-24 teams will be a 2-day event.

Girls Junior National Championships

Playing in the Badger Region Qualifier allows teams to earn a bid to play in 2027’s USA Volleyball’s Girls Junior National Championships. For details on each of the events associated USAV, click below:

  • Girls 18s: May 7-9, 2027, in Minneapolis.
  • Girls 14-17s: June 27-July 5, 2027, in Las Vegas
  • Girls 10-13s: June 18-21, 2027, in Chicago

This pass is ONLY good for admission to the Badger Region Volleyball Association, Inc. (“Badger Region”) Badger Region Qualifier (“Event”). 

  • All purchases are non-refundable once the Event has begun. To request a refund prior to the start of the Event, please email membership@badgervolleyball.org.
  • Children 10 and under are free and must be accompanied by an adult passholder at all times. Unsupervised children will be returned to their adult, and may be asked to leave the Event.
  • Exterior doors to the Event will open at 7:15 a.m. each morning. No one will be allowed early entry, even in inclement weather. Please plan accordingly.
  • Each adult and all children over 10 will need to present a QR Code pass to be scanned prior to entry
  • A QR code pass will be needed for reentry.
  • By purchasing a pass to this event, you are agreeing to abide by the Badger Region / USA Volleyball Spectator Code of Conduct and recognize that negative behavior can and will result in removal from the Event without reentry or refund, and may result in exclusion from future Badger Region events. The Badger Region will not tolerate hostile, humiliating or intimidating conduct, including abusive language or behavior including towards opposing players, coaches, referees or line-judges.  Your pass is a limited license to attend the event and is revocable by the Badger Region in its sole discretion for violation of the foregoing.
  • The schedule for this event is subject to change and can be found on the Badger Region website.
  • As a region of USA Volleyball, this event will adhere to SafeSport standards. For information on SafeSport, including child protection training, visit https://badgervolleyball.org/safesport/. 

PLEASE NOTE: THIS WILL BE A CASH FREE EVENT. Clubs are encouraged to work with families who do not have access to credit cards to make proper arrangements prior to Event entry.

Athletes under 18, younger siblings and other children not participating in the event MUST be supervised at all times by adults (family, guardians or coaches). Families with unattended children may be asked to leave the venue. Any property damage due to unsupervised athletes, siblings, or children, including playing on the escalators or playing with a ball in an unauthorized area, will be the responsibility of the club and/or family. Anyone who observes a potential hazard should report the situation immediately to event or building personnel. 

Additional Event Restrictions

  • No outside chairs
  • No weapons 
  • No alcohol or illegal drugs
  • No coolers or other large carry-ins – food will be available for purchase on-site

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 and airborne illness exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severeillness and death. According to theCenters for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and people with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.

By attending the Event, the passholder, for themselves and any child they bring into the Event, voluntarily assumes all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and other illnesses and also consent to health-related conditions for attendance.

By purchasing a pass and attending this event, the passholder, for themselves and for any child they bring into the Event, acknowledges that attendance at the Event is voluntary, and that spectators to the sport of volleyball assume inherent risks, including but not limited to collision with airborne volleyballs and/or with players who may leave the court. The passholder, for themselves, and for any child they bring into the Event voluntarily assumes all risks and danger and costs related to the Event, and waives any and all claims against the Badger Region, the owner of the facility hosting the Event, the issuer of the pass, and any agent or contractor of the foregoing who is providing services to the Badger Region or the Event. 

The passholder, for themselves and for any child they bring into the Event, consents to, and waives compensation for, use of their images or other personality rights in connection with the Event. By attending the Event, the passholder, for themselves and any child they bring into the Event, acknowledges that the Event is generally public subject to purchase of a pass, and that there will be photography and videography by the Badger Region and third-parties, and that as such they may be photographed or filmed and that such photography or video may end up on social media. Any and all photographs or videos taken by, or on behalf of, the Region may be used for promotional purposes without further consent or compensation.

The Badger Region is not responsible for any personal property brought into the facility and recommends that no bags, phones, or other personal items be left unattended. The passholder, for themselves and for any child they bring into the Event, acknowledges the foregoing and waives any claim against the Badger Region for theft, loss, or damage to personal property.

Admission is subject to compliance with all applicable laws, codes of conduct, and facility rules, and the passholder, for themselves, and any child they may bring into the Event, consents to reasonable health and security screening and searches and waives all related claims. Failure to comply with all applicable laws, codes of conduct, or facility rules may result in refusal of admission or expulsion. Suspicious behavior, including taking unauthorized photos of minors, will be monitored and the passholder and any child they bring into the Event may be removed and barred, and may be reported to authorities.  

By purchasing a pass, the passholder, for themselves and for any child they may bring into the Event, acknowledges that this pass is a revocable license and agrees to abide by the foregoing. All revocation determinations will be made by the Badger Region in its sole discretion. Passes purchased or received from sources other than a direct purchase from Badger Region Volleyball are the responsibility of the purchaser / recipient. The Badger Region is not responsible for lost, stolen or duplicated passes. Any passes found to be traded or used by someone other than the original named passholder will be cancelled and no refund will be given. 

If the passholder, for themselves and any child they may bring into the Event, do not wish to abide by the above obligations, conditions, waivers and releases, or does not have the authority to grant such releases and waivers on behalf of a child, the passholder and/or child should not enter the Event, or should immediately leave the Event and acknowledge there will be no refund unless granted by the Badger Region in its sole discretion.

ANY DISPUTE, CLAIM, OR CAUSE OF ACTION ARISING OUT OF OR IN ANY WAY RELATED TO THE EVENT SHALL BE SETTLED BY MANDATORY, CONFIDENTIAL, FINAL, AND BINDING ARBITRATION HELD IN WAUKESHA COUNTY, WISCONSIN. NEITHER THE HOLDER NOR THE RELEASED PARTIES SHALL BE ENTITLED TO JOIN OR CONSOLIDATE CLAIMS IN ARBITRATION BY OR AGAINST OTHER INDIVIDUALS OR ENTITIES OR ARBITRATE AS A REPRESENTATIVE MEMBER OF A PUTATIVE CLASS OR IN A PRIVATE ATTORNEY GENERAL CAPACITY. Under no circumstances shall the Badger Region or the venue be liable for any consequential, incidental, indirect, special, or punitive damages arising from or related to attendance at the Event, including lost enjoyment, travel costs, or other economic or non-economic losses, regardless of  whether such damages were foreseeable. *
